When Chaddsford Winery, Chadds Ford, PA., introduces one of its premium wines, it always make a concerted effort to do so with distinctive packaging. With that in mind, it called upon Saxco Canada Co., a subsidiary of Saxco International, world-wide packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry, to help enhance the packaging for its Dessert Riesling and Berry Blush wine introductions. "We are a small boutique winery specializing in a variety of premium wines," states Lee Miller, co-owner of Chaddsford Winery with her husband, Eric. "Because we are what we are, we always try to cast our wines with smart and distinctive appearances to give us a marketing edge. Because we are small, we try to present our wines as being very limited and special." To enhance the Dessert Riesling (sweet wine) introduction, Saxco Canada sourced and supplied a tall, thin 375ml antique blue bottle which was obtained from an Italian supplier. The bottle was silk-screened with graphics created by the winery�s in-house art department. "We were extremely pleased with our role in sourcing and supplying the bottles which significantly contributed to the overall upscale image created for both wines," states Herbert L. Sachs, pres ident of Saxco International, the parent company of Saxco Canada.
