FOR FURTHER MEDIA INFORMATION: Stu Coren, Rosen-Coren Agency, (215) 741-2003 SAXCO INTERNATIONAL ASSISTS GLENORA DISTILLERY WITH PACKAGING FOR GLEN BRETON RARE CANADIAN SINGLE MALT WHISKY When Glenora Distillery of Inverness County on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, decided to bring its Glen Breton Rare Canadian Single Malt Whisky to markets around the world, the company knew that packaging would be an integral part of the products successful introduction. With that in mind, it called upon Saxco International Inc. of Horsham, PA., world-wide packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry, to assist with this all-important aspect of the unique spirit. According to Bob Scott, Vice President of marketing of North Americas only single malt whisky distillery, Glen Breton Rare was developed as part of a collection of spirits which finds its roots back in the 1800s when Scottish immigrants chose Cape Breton Island for their new home because of its resemblance to the highlands and island of Scotland. Many traditions, customs and secrets came with the pioneers, including the making of a fine spirited whisky. Today, it remains the only place on earth, outside Scotland, where Gaelic culture and language live and thrive. Saxco International supplied a 750ml two-pinch flint bottle, black plastic top cork stopper with an imprinted "G" logo on top, and a clear PVC heat-shrink capsule. The bottle was sourced and supplied through Clyde-Forth Packaging of England, while the plastic top cork stopper came from long-time Saxco vendor J.C. Ribeiro of Portugal. The PVC capsule was supplied by BBC in Belgium. The distillery developed and supplied the bottles gold, red and black label themselves. We are most pleased with our role in helping to bring this distinctive and attractive malt whisky package to reality," states Keith L. Sachs, chairman of Saxco International Inc. In addition, Scott points out that Glen Breton Rare is currently being rolled out into markets in Asia, Europe and South Africa. He also notes that eventually he will offer it in limited quantities to niche markets in the United States. Saxco International has more than 20 years of industry experience, providing a broad range of packaging products and services to the liquor and wine industries. In addition to supplying packaging enhancement products, the companys services include expert consultation from development to design. SAXCO is headquartered in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with sales offices in New Brunswick, New Jersey; Boston, Massachusetts; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; Redwood City, California; and Harpenden, Herts, England.
