SAXCO
INTERNATIONAL ASSISTS DAVID SHERMAN CORP WITH PACKAGING ADDITION FOR
SALVADOR'S MARGARITA
In an effort to greatly expand marketing venues for its popular
ready-to-drink Salvador's Margarita, David Sherman Corporation of St. Louis,
MO., has decided to offer it in plastic as well as in its standard glass
bottles.
To help with the addition of the new clear 200-ml PET bottles, it engaged
the services of Saxco International, Inc. of Horsham, PA., long-time
packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry.
"Saxco not only helped us move ahead with the actual design but was
able to supply the private mold quality plastic bottles within a very tight
time line," states David Bratcher, Vice President of Operations for
David Sherman.
The PET bottles were supplied through PET-PAK of Toronto, Canada, a
long-time Saxco vendor.
Bratcher explains that, by adding the plastic bottles, the distiller and
marketer of quality wines and spirits would now be able to stimulate more
sales by adding additional venues such as concert halls and arenas, parks
and recreational areas, swim clubs and other outdoor areas where glass would
be less desirable.
David Sherman Corporation handled the labels and bottle closures
in-house. The ready-to-drink adult spirit is named for Salvador Huerta who
first produced it. His image is still personified on the label.
"This project is another example of how our experience and expertise
played an integral role in meeting the physical requirements within the
short turnaround time," states Herbert L. Sachs, President of Saxco
International.
