Targeting all 50 states throughout the United States
and focusing on a male audience 30 to 50 years of age who enjoy vodka, White
Rock Distilleries of Lewiston, Maine, is introducing its new premium
Pinnacle Vodka in both 750-ml and 1.75-L sizes.
To help enhance its introduction and deliver a unique
and distinctive appearance on the shelf for this new imported French spirit,
it enlisted the services of Saxco International Inc. of Horsham, PA,
worldwide packaging specialists for the wine and spirits industry.
Eventually, the project required that Saxco source and
supply bottles from two separate vendors.
Saverglass of France provided the 750-ml bottle, while Vetri Speciali
of Italy was tapped for a private mold bottle for the 1.75-L size.
The challenge was to find the right supplier for
each of the two individual sizes, states Keith L. Sachs, chairman of
Saxco International. Both
were required to be tapered and contain a footed bottom which further
increased the challenge.
Saxco also arranged for the flint bottles to be powder
coated an attractive translucent blue which was accomplished by Serigraphie
Richford of Montreal, Canada, also a Saxco vendor.
In addition, Saxco provided black roll-on aluminum caps
with blue stripes for both sizes from Pechiney of France.
The 750-ml contained a versaluxe closure for ease in pouring, while
the 1.75-L contained a supaluxe closure, offering the same convenience.
Both caps also displayed the word Imported.
White Rock Distilleries provided its own design and
pressure-sensitive labels to finish off the Pinnacle Vodka bottles.
Because this market is so hot, we are going ahead as
fast as we can to roll this new spirit out in all 50 states, states Paul
Coulombe, chief executive officer of White Rock Distilleries.
It will probably take the better part of our year to make it
available everywhere and to everyone.
