HORSHAM, Pa�Chris Shaffer has been appointed purchasing manager, specialty packaging for Saxco International Inc., it was announced here today by Keith L. Sachs, chairman.

Shaffer will be directly responsible for day-to-day procurement activities, including supplier management and purchasing processes for the specialty packaging segment of the company�s business.

Prior to joining Saxco International, he served in various capacities for some seven years at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products and McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a division of Johnson & Johnson.  At McNeil, he was employed as a senior buyer managing chemicals and distributors, a senior buyer planner managing promotional displays and a senior buyer managing national print.  At consumer products he worked as a process and technology leader and business development leader. 

Before that, he worked for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company in Georgetown , Ky. as a raw material specialist.

Shaffer is a graduate of Penn State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in business management with a minor in labor and industrial relations.  He is also certified in process excellence.

He and his wife, Shawne, have an eleven month old son, Brady, and reside in Chester Springs , Pa.
